We have a pet butterfly in the house!! The peacock kind. And my, is it beautiful! It goes by the name Gene-
Pat. I know, it's somewhat unfortunate as a name, but since we don't know whether it's a he or a she, then...
Gene-Pat it is.

We first noticed the pretty intruder sometime around end September, just hanging out with us (ha, literally). Then it disappeared. Only to reappear about two months later. To be honest, I really don't think our flat is the best hibernation space, but it does not want to fly out through open windows, so I assume it must like living with us. I've been feeding it and, ahem, yes, I also talk to Gene. Hopefully it will make it through the winter.

By the way, Gene is very shy about eating -- doesn't like to be watched and turns its back to you.
Oh yes, an absolutely fabulous and adorable creature!

Today saw the second day of sunshine after raining non-stop for two long days at the beginning of this week. Life is definitely nicer with sunshine. Or maybe it’s just me who can do with some cheering up these days.

Anyhow, it’s been a long time since the last post, although I suppose it’s nothing unusual for a new blog. In the mean time, besides keeping an eye out for interesting new job opportunities, I have been working on some print graphics. Postcards to be more precise. They are not quite ready for sharing yet, but as soon I'm finished they will be visible here as well.
In the meantime here's a photo I took this past summer. It's my desktop image and a reminder of those warm summer days.

Two new arrivals. In doubles. This means more bird love.

Personally, looking at (pictures of) objects, I often wonder how something or other was made. So I thought it might be interesting to put up some photos of the work process of making the stitched brooches. This of course means documenting the actual making part which starts after the unfathomable ideation session has taken place behind the closed doors of the brain-unit (and after some sketching/computer work). So, voila, here comes a short-short introduction to bringing the stitched-birds into life.

The already finished little creatures are available here.

Test, Test, 1, 2, 1, 2...
Hello?

I find it appropriate to have the first post be accompanied by an image composed back in the "analog" days. From magazine clippings. I think it's beautiful. Found in an old house on an island where I spent a weekend during recent holidays.
